The Flight Of Steps Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Flight Of Steps

The flight of steps
The solitary hours
The joy of weird solitude
The thrill of leaden skies
The pattering rain drops on the glass
The shivering of cold
The fear of the still
Wishing paces going up the flight of stairs
Grand-father clock in old disarray
Before me I saw
The ancientness of the place we leave after us
However care we took
However to that place we came
And came
And loved
And dwelt.
