The Flower You Laid - Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The flower you laid has
Not dried up in full
Fading it be:
Now it be another dawn
The church peals
The churchyard has
A low smile:
The flower you laid
Was of our love
Come! let the fires of
The sub-conscious spark
Again this love
And as by slow motion
The flower you laid
Will rise again
