The Flowers Of The Gardener Poem by Kelly Boutin

The Flowers Of The Gardener

For the birds all my love was for
The flowers of the gardener
For the tears I have cried in vain
For the days I cannot live again

It was all for naught but it it was all for gain
The day is mine to again embrace
The journey I once feared to tread
I walk now with my eyes not sad

The love that casted shadows of doubt
Has broken my heart and escaped it now
I don't fear that I've been let out
The wind feels good on wings

Flowers bloom, seeds sprout
I can rejoice about them now
I was sad but not anymore
For the flowers of the gardener

She planted them when she was still in tears
Watered them these many years
A princess lost in the wrong time
Embraced a destiny of dying

A poet you would have to say
Of colors used to paint her bed
Flowers blue and flowers grey
We now can see who you were today

The writing on the wall it said
Will anyone ever love her
For real this time we know
Those colors would have never shown

Until the flowers finally bloomed
Those flowers were her
The flowers of the gardener
