The Fragment Poem by Howard Johnson

The Fragment

Look at the surroundings
Interpreted, upon the wide
Waste of liquid ebony
On which
Thus we were born
In a few thoughts
I perceive above and below
Visible fragments
Large and small
Helplessly embraced
In a spiraling whirl
My Natural curiosity
Began to watch
With a strange interest
Of these on goings
They seemed to respond
To my change of emotions.
Its blackness verbed
A Helpless cry
Sparking a strength deep inside
Of love I have always craved
I never knew
My love had pulled you through
