The Frost Of Your Embrace Poem by Sven Rhoads

The Frost Of Your Embrace

In a dark room I sit ready to count the hours
Writing these words that hide under the tongue
Long it has been that I have sought liberation
Even though it will only be a flicker of the candle
Watched too many times all efforts turn sour
Always being on the wrong side of a loaded gun
But on this night there will only be celebration
Until the flame burns down to the handle

And under the stars I'll hope the moment never fades
When the moon is full I'll gaze into your smiling face
For we have waited so long
But now the time has come
To be lost in the frost of your embrace
We have found a way to find the sweetest release
Alone you and I can finally have a time for peace
We're together as one
The return of the sun
All complete in the frost of our embrace

Soon the last grain of sand will fall
All shackles will release their hold
And when the year births a new
May it bring to us the greatest escape
And when it comes once and for all
By the words we cast in the cold
With a brand new perspective view
Its a vision that we just cannot wait

For we have waited so long
We're together as one
But now the time has come
The return of the sun
May it last forever in the frost of your embrace
