I see the full moon at night
Round faced, beautiful and sweet
It shines from behind the cloud
Gives pleasures to a lovelorn crowd
I see in it my lover's face
With night hanging like her dark tress
Around the moon the stars stand as guards
Fluttering their wings of light as restless birds
The wind sometimes gently pushes the moon
Towards the west to the wide horizon
I love the moon like the lovers do
When in the night it comes out fresh and new
