for whom all the poems
come from or for whom

it is you who knows this
only you and
sooner or later
they will find this to be true
about us,

but they will be interested in
you rather
than me
they will not ask about a
shattered life,
a sheltered love,
a wandering mind, a lifted soul,

they will not ask
what is this
black bird all about,
what is that
telephone wire
how it has become
so unnoticeable
against a raining sky...
