The Ganglion Cells In Eyes Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

The Ganglion Cells In Eyes

We belong to the race of nimble-footed mice
as the same ganglion cells we have in our eyes.
Activate the cells in rats by bright light
and their depressed mood comes to our sight.
Learning skills go down and the memory they lose
as the boys awake all the night fail in life to arouse.

I had seen in my college days
the high scorers studying in fey ways
burning the midnight oil
to reap rewards with untiring toil.
I imitated that habit of those guys
and scribbled tales of a hurt heart's sighs.
I slept oft in Maths class and lost my grades
and thrown in life to hear everyone's tirades.

We see boys spending unlimited time
before the computers, enjoying the loved-one's rhyme.
Their mothers, to all their kin, boast
about their sons' hardwork, utmost.
Their brain's limpic system, the glare affects
and ups the stress harmone to have negative effects
in their mood and the weakening skills
lead them to take bath in tearful rills.
