Newton believed that matter moves
through infinite space and time.
However, Einstein challenged this view.
His Theory of Relativity says
that matter interacts
with space and time.
If you move extremely fast,
riding sunbeams tha travel
at the speed of light
(300.000 km/sec in vacuum) ,
space shortens down to zero width
and time comes to a complete stop.
Quantum physicists,
among them Bohr and Heisenberg,
also added the role of mind,
of human consciousness,
as an active force,
impacting the subatomic realm and nature.
Ironically, however,
the more we seem to know
the less we understand.
It seems that the universe
veils itself from us.
The cosmos wears many masks
and continues to hide
its paramount secrets.
Thus what we experience as reality
emerges as a daydream,
sort of a holographic illusion.
We stand now at the locked gate
of the ultimate mysteries
of the universe.
Moreover,
we also ought to bear in mind
the intrinsic restrictions
of scientific research and progress.
Hence, in view of Heisenberg's principle
of Quantum Indeterminacy, for example,
or Godel's proof
of Mathematical Uncertainty,
the scientific efforts to discover
the ultimate mysteries of the universe
appear to lie
beyond the limited capacities
of the human brain.
