The Gates Poem by Vera Sidhwa

The Gates

The Gates

I entered the gate of horrid things.
It boggled my mind and took flight on wings.
They terrified me so.
I didn't know what to do.

I entered the gate of all great things.
It boggled my mind and took flight on wings.
I too that flight to a higher source.
To this I had no remorse.

You see, the gates of good and bad,
Flew open to me if I wanted to.
This time, I opened both together.
The good gate stayed in my mind forever.

Truly, man has a free will between good and bad.
