Blood seeping down the walls of the left lung
Twenty one times
Twenty one directions
Blood seeping down the walls of the right lung
Thirty three times
Thirty three directions
Numbers had indwelling horrors
In that red lung
On those red lung walls
And heaving added more chill to more horror
For there
There had entered the Ghost of Harm
And first by slow degrees wrought harm
And then all suddenly.
Breathing was yellow in Fear
The airs issued slow, slower from the nostrils
The Ghost had had his Will!
