When the world is upside down
Perhaps your plans have come undone
We tend to turn to people
Even those who turn and run

Once I knew a young girl
Full of life and eagerness
She wasn’t that successful
As she died a lonely death

Though she had a lot of money
It was love she did not have
Her friends she all discarded
How could they understand?

She longed to meet a man
Who would sweep her from her feet
Time went by
She got old
The man she did not meet
