She smiles,
Dark eyes pierce downward toward her feet,
Days before the start of conflict-she seems bashful and meek-
What will happen as 2011 draws to an end? What will happen to her and her kin?
Will she flee to the border? Or will she stand up to defend?
In this very moment-her heart decides to make a stand!
She will lay down her life to protect her beautiful homeland!
Bashful no more her eyes pierce away from her feet and down iron sights,
Looking to acquire the targets her heart longs to fight!
She slays modern Nazis from Rojava's front lines,
Sending them to hell one at a time! (at least in their minds)
Bravely she fights to clear her homeland from the ISIS scum
Only for her most trusted Ally to turn tail and run—
Now the Turkish tanks roll in—mile by mile
As the girl from Rojava peers through the sights once more
—she smiles
