The Girl In The Mirror
The key that unlocks the road ahead is lost without a trace
Futures road stands in time waiting locked until revealed
Until that time I must find the girl I left behind
My dreams tell secrets in nightmares form
Vision blurred by misconceptions
Standing still remembering, deciphering, forgetting
I hold close to what is dear remember through the fear
Walk away, begin to grow, unearth what I don't know
My tears they fall, like winter's ice, piecing the soul of the forgotten life
The girl I lost, she's buried deep, beneath the rubble
Only one path will lead me to that place I long ago left
Break down the walls, remember the forgotten
Find the mess that lies within and build
Build the soul of scars and patch those best I can
Only time will tell what can become
Of all that's left unknown,
Forgotten,
The girl in the past,
The girl in the mirror….

One girl in the mirror and with time its as if you see into the reflection of a reflection in the mirror behind you and it becomes the girls in the mirror. I like the mirror picture, though it is common, because it does tell that the image we see cannot be reached, like looking at the world through glass; like being in a bell jar. And it's always an excitingly mysterious thing to play with the idea of looking into a mirror and seeing an unnaturally past view of ourselves
