The God Is Meditating Poem by Mahathi Mydavolu

The God Is Meditating

Behold, the Lord is meditating 'Om'!
Don't make you sound! Don't even flutter your
Eyelids! Don't ruffle pages of your tome!
To reigning quietude you just lend you ear.

O flying butterflies and honey bees
You're mistaking His eyes as lotus flowers!
Don't vroom around, thus disturbing His peace.
Fly anon there and perch on temple towers.

O dear devotees and great seekers all
Behold! Some scream and chant His names aloud.
There see, someone is dancing like a doll!
Nay, nay, come you out of that raucous crowd!

You too sit quiet and try to meld your soul
With His, when become you His soul and whole!
