The Grace Poem by Kinyua Karanja

The Grace

Rating: 5.0

I have devoted my life to strict ways,
In rigorous and tireless search for purity
Trying to keep divine commands all days
But constantly frustrated by life reality.
The strictness in observing the laws
Has turned my life into a hell of mess
Because the more I try, I find more flaws
And my faith and sanctity remains less.

In my quest for spiritual and moral piety
I have discovered various upsetting facts,
Human beings should always seek sobriety
But learns purity is not gained by acts
Of self restrains and outward adherence
To the laws and divine commandments,
But, by acceptance of our dependence,
Weakness and desist from self judgments.

To observe and keep God's laws is hard
And if we live justified to be righteous
We are liars, leaving ourselves barred
From the truth and we are not even pious.
The salvation from law is only by grace
And constant seeking sincere forgiveness
Knowing that we are all in the race
Entitled for honor and eternal happiness.

Verily, it's a task, the trial of life, but no way, we have to move on, and that's the trial of trials, the human life, Loved reading the poem........10
