The Great God Thaw! Poem by Tony Sandy

The Great God Thaw!

The rain pain is with us again
(And not just on the plain) .
The snow melts
As water droplets pelts,
Washing away the cold weather,
Which turns soft skin
Into hardened leather.
Hail and farewell
To the chill and ice
That crushes our hope
In its frozen vice.
Slush puppies splash around
Enjoying the sloshy, squashy sound
Water, water everywhere
But kids don't care.
It's only adults
That wallow in misery
And despair

The Great God Thaw!

The worst part of snow and ice is when it melts, making it slippery
