In 1930, the Dandi march* bore so much significance
On both sides it was “do or die” chance
The great stress was laid on non violence
The Gandhiji* himself was leading the volunteers
The great father of nation did whatever he could
Today we are on the brink of disaster and should
Ask only one question” Where are we heading for”?
Is it the same place where the March was considered as war?
We occasionally remember the great sacrifice
The father of the nation showed great vision with promises
Today that sight stands in dilapidated condition
Not stray cattle can pass over it with safe condition
Nearby Sabarmati Ashram* stand as vanguard
We can pick some leaves to look onward
The site is taken over by and exploited for commercial use
Many people have intruded inside with aim to misuse
We are loosing great heritage and charm
How much we will inflict and harm?
We can definitely think over the issue
What else is left for us than only view?
Many politicians and academician occasionally remember
Visit the place and pay homage with prayers
We have made it as token remembrance
The past glory has remained as lost chance
• Famous march against imposition of levy on salt
• Gandhiji… Father of Indian nation
• Sabarmati Ashram… Sabarmati.. river name
• Ashram.. place where Gandhiji spent most of his time
