The Greatest Panacea Poem by Arun Maji

The Greatest Panacea

Rating: 5.0

Life is painful
It will always be painful no matter what.
But fortunately
Pain and suffering are two different worlds.

Pain is what you receive
And suffering is what you make out of it.

A man who knows art of
Ignoring pain, ridiculing pain, belittling pain, forgetting pain,
Is the wisest, and the happiest.
He transforms pain into peacemaking passion.

And none is better in ignoring pain, ridiculing pain
Than a witty drunkard.
When drunk
He is immune to all pains and sufferings of this universe.

O human
Be drunk. Be drunk as often as you can be.
This universe is full of beautiful addictions.
Sun, moon, river, mountain, music, poetry-
They are innumerable.

Choose your own addiction.
And be drunk. Stay drunk.
