The Green Death Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Green Death

Rating: 5.0

The planets facing contamination
And it progressing exponentially
It's clogging up earth's ventilation
Effecting the blue marbles chemistry

Over loggings become an affliction
Fueling a timber genocide
Now forests are facing extinction
Eating by mechanical parasites

Tumors of concrete are spreading
Consuming all peatlands and Moss
Ecosystems everywhere will be swelling
But we'll have malls and Parking Lots

Millions of Hectares are ravished
Bleached by the steel of industry
Every leaf and small frond will be tarnished
Infected by corporate antipathy

Soon there will be no blade of grass
To carry the springs million seeds
And woods will be a thing of the pasts
Speared to histories yellow weeds

Watch as the symptoms become more lethal
Turning the fragments of Eden into a tomb
For the green death shall waste every sepal
And Lay the scythe in nature reaped Womb

Oh, what a deeply moving poem. So poignant yet beautiful that touches the heart of every reader who loves our Mother Earth. A wake up call to governments who allow powerful businessmen to ravish Mother Nature. A powerful and insightful write. Liked the unique title. Onto my Poem List.
