The Green Dragon Poem by Chris Leermakers

The Green Dragon

Standing out and looking
I hold you close tonight
wondering and thinking
true reality Is In my sight
If and when I see you
I will know what to say
seeing you is better
I'll remember you that way
saying words to please me
feelings, now they're easy
especially from the heart

Life is filled with choices
we see these every day
I hear the same old voices
some people who I actually know
but don't know what to say
put them all together
they wind up best this way
take them all forever
Immortality Is here to stay
waiting for the winter
to one day go away

You appreciate the summer
funny, isn't it I say
let's drink the wine together
It's ours to drink
and soon the cool sweet water
the best drink, don't you think?
add To this some lemon, lime a little absinthe to
It''s pale yet so refreshing
oh, here comes the green dragon
I think he'll find It quenching

we'll drink them, one and all
maybe sing a song
retire, rest, then crawl
maybe grow some fruit
tend to the placid sheep
trip over the green wormwood root
So we can go to sleep
people, places, memories
experiences quite unique
remember them, as always
for one day we will meet…
