The Harpoon Men. Poem by Charles M Moore

The Harpoon Men.

Rating: 4.5

All you City slickers
we remember when
failure was no option
when you played the game
yes you can afford it
you can have it now
just a taste of venom
from the sacred cow.

All you long legged riders
all you harpoon men
working for the banks
and institutions then
with assasins smiles
you took the last red cent
from the working people
and the government.

Millions lost there houses
millions lost there jobs
millions lost there future
millions prayed to God
was your palace worth it
did you see the light
did the champagne popping
keep you up all night.

Still the futures out there
on a heavy road
survivors share the burden
and can take the load
makes you wonder if
we'll ever trust again
the long legged riders
and the harpoon men.
