As we approached the haunted castle,
We heard the moans of numerous ghosts,
And the eerie flapping of bats' wings.
O we were cloaked in a whirling, white mist!
It was like something out of a grave dream.
Our very souls seemed to be hypnotised.
Fear enveloped our senses on
That fateful night; under bright starlight.
The moon looked pale and weary with yellow dread.
Even the wind seemed to whisper warnings
To stay away! How I wish we'd listened.
For now our lives are greatly troubled..
