The Heart Poem by Curry Bascue

The Heart

If one could only wish for a brighter sun,
For a longer day,
Maybe I could see
Her face.
That girl that took captive my own heart.
One person you poured your all into hoping for the same in return.
Not getting the same in return leaves you unfulfilled.
Yet still you would give up a piece of yourself all over again…
For her.
You find your heart broken before anyone can lay a finger on it.
And when you look back to find it whole,
Your perplexed and confused
But your heart has matured.
The heart will always become stronger.
With every blow,
Every crack,
Every stain of blood dripped to the earth.
Your heart has grown so much in such little time,
Yet still you still doubt your emotions.
Your feelings
For that girl
Tell me,
When you dive into the water,
What are you diving in for?
Are you diving in to find her and bring her back?
Because she is waiting,
She will always be waiting,
Until the world is as it should be,
And you return to her.
