The Ocean Poem by Curry Bascue

The Ocean

When will you learn to let go?
To swim away far past any sight of dirt or earth.
Just to get past the thought of the unknown being a source of fear,
Instead for it to become a gate to an unknown dimension.
For once to embrace the deepest blue,
Though everything is yet a mystery.
Does the color strike a cord in your mind?
Does the feeling of not touching ground petrify you?
Fight the fear,
Dive in with wonder and excitement like you did when you were young.
The ocean is vast and ever expanding,
But it is nurturing,
It is kind,
And it is life.
Fall into the blue,
Just one more time.
Let the water embrace you,
Because the moment you let go of fear,
Is the moment that the unknown becomes a part of life,
And the moment that fear,
Becomes the illusion.
