The Heavenly Choice! Poem by Denis Martindale

The Heavenly Choice!

The Christian closed her eyes in prayer, went up to Heaven unaware,
With opened eyes began to stare at Jesus Christ now waiting there.
The Saviour showed her what took place, the time that she got saved by grace,
The Holy Gospel to embrace yet both of them now face-to-face.
The King of Kings asked straight away, Will you return? Or choose to stay?
To live in Heaven day-by-day? Or preach and save the lost who stray?

Yet she ignored each unsaved soul, determined not to play her role,
Preferring Heaven, on the whole, not knowing of the dreadful toll.
As she gave Christ a loving kiss, she smiled that she had chosen bliss,
The Lord of Lords agreed to this yet wept at blessings each would miss.
The Christian woke up from her dream, with her tears flowing like a stream,
Love must be wise and not extreme, with more to her choice than would seem.

I love You, Lord, with all my heart, and why I chose not to depart,
I'm back on Earth, so bid me start to share that hymn, How Great Thou Art!
Think of the blessings meant for each of those lost souls that I could reach!
Grant me the Good News still to preach, more Bible studies still to teach!
And so, upon the Earth, she stayed. How faithfully she preached and prayed!
While time in Heaven got delayed, how wonderful that she obeyed!

Some visitors to Heaven got asked what they
wanted, Whether to return to Earth or to stay
in Heaven with Jesus, the King of Love!

Even Saint Paul felt compelled to stay on
Earth to preach and help the unsaved sinners
come to the Cross of Christ. Yes, that is how
important the Gospel of Jesus is to evangelists.

Heaven is getting discussed on Revelation TV's
evening programmes called Insight Live and
The Twilight Zone on the 28th of June 2022.

On Wednesday morning, on the 29th of June 2022,
the Gospel poem was shared on Revelation TV's
R-Mornings show by presenter Lesley Conder.
