When a man is constantly criticized by his wife
Where he feels controlled with constant strife,
When she tells him how to lead his life.
When she tells him what to say or do,
The meaning of love is then different between the two.
When she tells her husband how to dress
And unto his errors to her he must always confess,
When she constantly complains about his mess.
And when she tells him who his friends ought to be
And when it makes her joyful with his apology.
When the wife controls the husband's very wallet
And she's believes it's hers, all of it,
And when it's not in her hands or purse there's a fit.
When he gives it to her uncaringly and freely,
In my mind are confused thoughts of really.
The husband comes home from a hard day at work
The wife is already waiting for him in her skirt,
She tells him to put on a different shirt.
He just wants to sit down for a bit and maybe nap or relax,
But, she tells him to take her out, but first put on new slacks.
When the wife goes and does whatever she wants to do
And whatever it is, he never has a clue,
He always answers with a "Yes" or, "I Love You".
When his own deeds and wants he must always neglect,
That man indeed is henpecked.
