A belt of beads, a story told,
Of peace that made the nations bold.
Five tribes, once fighting, now entwined,
A peaceful path for all mankind.
The Mohawk, first, the eastern door,
Welcomes all, and asks for more.
Then Oneida, strong and true,
Cayuga follows, hearts anew.
Onondaga, central fire,
Where wisdom burns, and desires.
Seneca, last, the western side,
All join hands, with naught to hide.
White shells linked, a sturdy chain,
No more war, no more pain.
A longhouse built, a common home,
Where all can live and freely roam.
The women's voice, a guiding light,
Choose the leaders, day and night.
This ancient belt, a sacred sign,
Of unity, forever to shine.
