The Humans In The Windows Poem by Dónall Dempsey

The Humans In The Windows

Rating: 5.0

Heated words
the humans in the window
gesticulate
as if in a play

but we are too far away to hear
this interplay
outside the window

a blossom trembles
& falls
a swallow amazes
the sky

a shadow
tells the time
by placing itself
upon the sundial

the humans
in the window
pay no attention
to shadows telling the time

the tremble of blossom
or a bird delighting the sky
they see nothing

not even
each other.
