The Ikinzoo Owl Poem by Richard D Remler

The Ikinzoo Owl

.....................................

Have you ever heard
Of the Iknizoo Owl?
It is a most offensive,
And dour,
Unpleasantish fowl.
For, instead of a beak,
This strange bird
Has a trunk.
And towering high,
Has a tail
Like a skunk!
And with that great tail
Comes a great
Skunkish smell.
And to top it all off,
It's as big as a whale!

And that can't be good.
Not at all, no sirree.
How dreadful it is,
When it's gawking at me.
I was just out the door
Sipping my morning tea
When it threshled
And flapped
And alighted so free
On the strongest wee branch
Of my Flittlesnip Tree.
A Flittlesnip Tree
I can no longer see.

I tried to spook it away,
So, I let it all out.
Oh, you should have seen me
Holler and shout!
I raised up a ruckus,
Or too, maybe three.
But that absurd oddish bird
Started laughing at me.
And that's very rude
For this ood of a snood!
It just hickles and haws
Like an old alley gator.
So I'm going inside.
I might try again later.
