Summer Time Poem by Richard D Remler

Summer Time

Rating: 5.0

................................

Gather her sunshine,
Fancy her smile.
Remember, she'll stay
For but a short while.
So, dance in the joy
Of her warm Summer's day,
Before Autumn's foot soldiers
Chase her away.

I agree, summer seems to be all too short. In New Zealand it is a long hot summer at the moment, which I like a lot and it's when I feel fully alive. Good use of personification in your last 2 lines, ' Before Autumn's foot soldiers'.
