The real distinction between
the Illuminative
and the Unitive Life
is that in Illumintion
the individuality
of the subject,
however profound
his spiritual consciousness,
however close his communion
with the Infinite may be,
remains separate and intact.
His heightened apprehension
of reality governs rather
than obliterates the rest
of his life and may even
increase his power
of dealing adequately
with the accidents
of normal existence.
