The Intruder Poem by Chris Taylor

The Intruder

Today, I wanted to write a little something about people who cause division or separation in God’s ordained unions. In this sinful age, it seems that marriages are, more than ever, going by the wayside. It is so important to protect the sanctity of marriage and to be obedient to God’s command to stay holy and upright. Here is a warning(from GOD) to people who cause his little ones to stumble; Matthew 18: 6 “But, whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” A warning I would truly heed.

The Intruder

a poem by Chris

Your long pointed nose you wedge into couples
Causing division where ever you go
Motivated by hurt, selfishness and greed
Tearing asunder perfect harmony

Like a harlot disguised as an orchid
Your pitcher plant snares the unsuspecting
No beautiful thing will you leave untouched
And no holy union escapes the taste of venom’s kiss

The rattler is silent and lays in the grass
Watching and waiting is its deadly game
Dripping with honey words that seem to caress the neck
But sting, strike and prick is the trap that it has laid

Building up the less confident, with words of inspiration
Planting your acrid seed on suffering soil
Like a twisting vine that grabs the foundation
Crumbling a house that was once made chaste

So beware the intruder in your hallowed land
Tolerate not creatures who divide
Take not your eyes off of the horizon
And protect the sanctity of matrimony’s endowment
