The Jab Poem by Randy McClave

The Jab

Like a pointing lab
I will always lead off with my jab,
Then I'll follow it up with a hook or a right
As I fight.

I will keep my opponent away
I will then keep him at bay,
When I throw my double jab
Stab, stab.

I use my jab to dictate
And to setup my opponent's fate,
His defense I will explore
I am indeed in a strategic war.

The jab gets me in and gets me out
It governs the pace of my bout,
Without thought or a hunch
The jab is the greatest punch.
