the jester
-the painted face
his beautifully yet playful mask
so inviting, so enticing yet unwise
colorful fool: of sly white, and delightful black
-the coated smile
his artful music and his crafty mime
the elegance of the trick and the thrill
to mystify their eyes; to pain a lurid time
-the flashy dance
his eccentric hay and pageant of hurray
with the motley hat and marotte scepter in balance
oh so entertaining, a jest, the court’s folly
-the colorful world
his flamboyant tales and imperial laughter
to them is delight- the sweet naughty bold
behind the fool’s apocryphal theater
