The Journey Poem by DAVID TERRY

The Journey

The first step is the toughest
When your heart isn’t in it
When the path looks the roughest
When you believe you should quit

You take the step in faith
Put one foot in front of the other
No longer would it wait
This sojourn to another

The journey starts out slow
Each step away from past
And the farther that I go
The more I go there fast

I know not where it ends
Yet I’ll travel what I believe
Forgiving and making amends
Before I finally leave
