The Journey Poem by Mary Rodriguez

The Journey

We all trudge along this journey called life
Taking the path with the least amount of strife
Soon I'll travel across the sea
Wondering, Will anyone be here thinking of me?
The way of the world is rather glum
Some won't like me based on where I come from
Confidently, I'll provide the best of care
It doesn't matter to me the color of your skin or hair
People want to judge me for the things I do
Judge me not, unless you've walked in my shoes
Sometimes the journey seems so long
Hard to know where you quite belong
We all have a strength buried deep within
Support from others can show you where to begin
People enter our lives for different reasons
Some for a lifetime and some for a season
Trust the things you'll learn along the way
Sometimes it only takes a smile to make someone's day
This dance through life is complicated indeed
Let's do what we can to help those in need
You never know what blessings God will send
Embrace your journey until the very end
