Why stand and stare when books are there, right there within your reach,
With wondrous tales beyond compare and others meant to teach?
With characters that make you smile or cause your heart to stir,
Just choose to sit down for a while to learn what may occur.

Is that a science fiction tale of Star Trek or Star Wars?
A poem by Denis Martindale? That I, of course, endorse.
Is there a cartoon now and then, perhaps a photograph?
Or film star comics way back when that always made me laugh?

You could be reading romance stuff, where each girl gets her man,
They like to meet and fall in love as if this were God's plan.
View wedding gowns to suit a bride to bless her day of days!
Or check inside a travel guide for future getaways!

The libraries are there to please! Just think of what they lend!
In libraries, where joys increase, each book can be your friend!
It's up to you from here on in! To choose to stand or stare!
Or choose a book and then begin your brand new journey there!
