The Judas Tree By Rosemary D. Poem by Margaret Kollmer

The Judas Tree By Rosemary D.

Have you ever hung on a Judas tree?
You do that when you slander me.
You swing when cheat you do…and lie
And when your neighbours you deny.
For I provide a bounteous splendour
Of leaf and grove and shady arbour.
There is no war amongst nature’s friends;
‘Tis only man who twists and bends
life’s funny ways to suit himself.
So Judas face and Judas tree –
they’re not the same
At least to me.
