The Kiss Poem by Subhasish Thakur

The Kiss

Rating: 5.0

I tasted the sea
In the pallor of your lips
Where all my rivers sang
And my thoughts flew
I, the eternal voyager had started my journey anew
Without radars, compasses and encyclopaediae

I saw the desolate
Rows of pines
That stretched for miles
Within the terrain of your heart
The ancient cities in ruins
Scarred by historic wars
I saw the flames rise
In the silence of a crematorium
My dreams in tatters
In your oceanic eyes
Bathed in twilight

I tasted the sea
In the pallor of your lips
And saw darkness descend
Like phantom parachutes.
