The Kyu Poem by Joy Grate

The Kyu

I watched him go to war today
Almost murdered before my very eyes
But I'm not crying, Im' not grieving
Because reaching the grid of death
Is the only way he'll master life

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My husband plays the board game called Go. I'm not sure what his rank is now, but when I wrote this he was a 9 kyu. Kyu ranks are considered student ranks.
