The Lady Sarah Spencer
Opus 32
Today I dined with royalty,
The lady Sarah Spencer.
She opened up her home to me,
A lowly Irish commoner.
From simple fare, a grand banquet,
Was offered to us all,
Majestic was the company,
In that great dining hall.
From basic needs, we fashioned there,
A chance for new acquaintance.
And with the pleasure of our friends,
We managed daily maintenance.
We spoke of commonalties,
And matters purely legal,
No ordinary evening this,
It sparked with qualities regal.
The Lady Sarah Spencer was,
In deed, a gracious host.
She added, to our night, a flair,
To which we gratefully, toast.
The lady demonstrated how,
The common can become,
The thing that makes us want to bow,
And sets the royal tone!
