The Lark Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

The Lark

Since when the lark
Fluttered kangaroo-like
And sang
And sang?

‘From Dawn'

Since when
Since when
The stars
The white stars fled?

‘Since Dawn'

Since when
The ghosts and shrouds
Left their shadows fade
And now a little red
Shines bolstering
The white face of day?

‘Since Dawn'
