The Last Call Poem by Sreekala Sukumaran

The Last Call

Rating: 5.0

Waiting for an anonymous call
That’s what others might think
But it’s never ever like that
As it’s a very precious call.

To Dream about it, is so nice
Hope to hear it some day
To live in that imagination
Makes you feel very good.

Wanting to hear it again and again
Not able to hear that loving voice
Searching for it every where
Will it ever come again?

Wishes are always sweet and nice
Need not ever happen again
Dreams and hopes end at last
No more waiting as it’s gone.

Looking at me with his caring eyes
To see whether I am still with him
Whispering softly in my ears
And gently holds my hand.

“A day will come when I live no more
Let God give you strength to bear”
These were his last wordings for me
That will linger in my ears for ever.

God has given his last call
Spoke to me till the end
Holding my hand tightly
I could see his peaceful face.

His tired eyes was closing to sleep
Suddenly he woke up and just smiled
Looking at my face, then it was closed
For ever to a deep eternal sleep…..

He knew he is going to leave this world
He faced it so well without hurting others
He will always remain immortal
He is my “BELOVED FATHER”…..

Full of feelings and lovely thought we can feel while reading, really you are to be appreciated for attempting to write such a wonderful poem about your father, i think very rarely people do it. I was really moved after reading it. My sincere condolences.
