The Last Drop. Poem by Kavya S Babu

The Last Drop.

Thud! I oozed out through the tiny crevices
and fell down with all my mass.
Something seems to push me with all its vigour
I fear! , am I faster than light?
The human theories might fall upside down.

I am the last drop of this year
Feeling glad to be honoured so
For I'll remain in their thoughts
For their adieu strain will be for me, just for me.
For I am their beloved, till the next summer rain.

A blurred image of chill green coloured my view
They'll have much to share with me.
As I am the last drop, their words might be worn out.
But my love will afresh them, for sure
Down there, I can see my dear ones in youth glory!

After months of dryness and shyness,
they are now wet and smart
Like us being a rhythm for men,
their rustle makes my mass thin
and every note thrust into my heart.

I fell on the tip of a petal,
slide quickly, in an extreme joy
managed myself not to fall onto the mud
I ran through the slender stem,
it shivered with a hidden smile.

I ended up on a new born leaf
How cute was its twitter! , I just cant explain
A nasty wind came and gave me a push
I got reached to its leaning tip, my time is up
No...I fall onto another one, more aged.

I can hear them say, 'This rain is cool! ,
let it rain all through the year,
am waiting for the next shower'
In came another blow, a sudden blow
Alas! My time is up, my time is up!

I'll be thrust into my muddy tomorrow
I bid them farewell, a silent strain
with a cooked up smile, a pity node
that hides the very pain and truth,
for I know, I am the last drop!
