A Dr. once told me, in an effort for me to understand what the heck happened to the kids who once seemed so perfect and loving and I was told that it wasn't me but that I had raised them in what is known as the 'ME GENERATION'. Which is so unlike we baby boomers....If one thinks the teens are bad, just wait, they will seem like heaven compared to 25 to 30 something..[no offense intended to my friends here who are in there 30's] This is a heartfelt write and just one of the many ups and downs of being a Parent...Times like this one has to remember the good old days when we were perfect to them and they were ever so young and innocent and fun....Another thought, no matter how old, Parents still seem to be seen as the children's personal Bank of America......thanks for this Ted.~~~marci.xo. :)

The pain of seeing your wee one grow up and make the mistakes which are part of that process painfully, honestly, engagingly encapsulated. Oh that every offspring had a father who even thought about these things.... t x

We do the best we can for our offspring, however, the proof is in the pudding, so to speak. We try to protect them from pain and suffering, but must remember that it's THEIR life experience, and they need to do just that - experience - whether good or bad, it's their choice. Powerful words, here, Ted, spoken as only a loving father can. Linda
