THE LATEST FINDINGS Poem by Rutger Kopland

THE LATEST FINDINGS

There were as we thought we knew two worlds -
the real one and the other one

further research has recently revealed that this distinction
is a superfluous illusion: experts
have searched in human brains
and heard nor seen any differences

on the contrary, what they found no pen
could describe, so incredibly simple
so beautiful

they recorded:

‘Night fell through the windows of our institute
moonlight stroked across the young breasts
of our female experimental person

and yes, the devices driven by her brain cells
were sighing and in our microscopes we saw
in her molecules milky ways of desire.

We are still searching feverishly for formulae.'

This, according to some elated, unintentionally lyrical
quotes from their report.
