Oh the tragic consequences of shame. I'm so glad you found him - even though it was not for long enough. At least you were able to meet him David. So sad that your sister continues to live in denial - but some don't have the courage to face the difficult truths, even though the consequence is estrangement from family. Well, the lie was told and that can't be reversed. At least you went quickly ahead with making amends and got hold of your brother before his passing. This poem is a good lesson, to all of us, on how much pain lies can cause... even across generations. What a sad story, but you told it so well.
