I feel her short breathes within me
The sweet taste of life before
The darkness has gone, so let it be
There is only light in the deepest core.
She is the light that guides my sight
Helps me to recover
This illness I try to fight
She was more than just my mother’s mother.
Her lights will always stay on
For as long as I exist
And her heartbeat still be strong
From the darkness I try to resist.
The angels sang when you arrived
I cried when you had left
I never thought I could ever have survived
Cos’ when they took you, it felt like theft.
A pink rose was your last gift
From deep within to say goodbye
The sweet smell of your soul adrift
These tears I shall no longer cry.
