2pac Rip Poem by Claire Hastie

2pac Rip

Rating: 3.8

I dedicate this to the one I most admired
His poetry and life were to be desired
His short life he predicted
Some say it was self-inflicted.

Tupac Shakur was your grace
Distinctive name with a matching face
A mother who he loved more than life
A father who he hardly knew exist
His ups and downs full of strife
A Thugs Life he could not resist.

A hail of bullets was to be his fate
Showered upon him as they lay in wait
No one really knows who is to blame
But one thing I do know... that he did not die in vain!

I love your poem. Have you read any of his poetry? I suggest his book 'The Rose that Grew from Concrete' and especially 'In the event of my demise' and 'Under the skies above'. Let me know what you think. Jasper

I have to confess....I've admired your subject coz he stood out! And your dedication to him through this poem stands out! ..it's deep from your heart.....an emotional poem well delivered....honoring the fallen honorable....capturing all facets of his short and inspiring life...this is a poem from a poet...a poet willing to dig deeper into his/her heart of hearts...and let all come out freely through her/his pen...Keep on dear one....10+++
